Rurouni Kenshin Movie (2012) : Review

Plot:
This movie is based on mixes of few episodes in the anime itself. So as a former Samurai X follower, I knew quite well about the plot and how things might ended up even before this movie started. The movie introduce all of the characters in the Samurai X all at once in a series of unfortunate events. So it's about stopping the evil poppy merchant from spreading his evil deed. Of course, kenshin meet formidable opponents in the event of stopping the madness of the merchant. SO ,, thats that. now..

Main Characters:

The I bear striking resemblance with the anime version of Himura Kenshin, but I froze much much better than him in acting skill.

I mean what the f.. I know the actor himself is quite popular in Japan, but I seriously cant imagine how terrible his acting skill is. He can do fighting scene of course, a bit funny expression but that just it. When it comes to being serious and all.. oh mee goosshh.. fail.. As a former Samurai X otaku, I am deeply sadden by his frozen face and sincerely apologize to Himura Kenshin himself.

The I am the pretty face so I should froze my facial expression too Kaoru:

Kaoru, as I known, is a kind but not a pretty person. She is just a normal girl and all she care is the dojo. WHat I expected was the type of Kaoru that I constantly met on each episode of Samurai X, the tomboy but caring Kaoru. In the movie however, the actress just stick to her beautiful angle and more frozen face. Oh God.. and they are going to make another one...

Megumi:

When I dont add detail to their names, it only means that this character is pretty decent. Suprisingly, although being a less main character in the movie, Megumi can act way way way way way better than both fella up there. She is not a prominent beauty but as Megumi is a character of killer beauty, the actress can convey her character as a beautiful doctor very well. You can feel she is a beauty even though she looks normal in real life.

Rating:

Action: im sorry, its fun but it still not that good so 5/10
Acting skill: 2/10 (feels like im watching a B-rated movie)

Genre: Mystery, Gore, death , horror, graphical content/ life lesson
Lesson: friendship, trust (yeah, despite the countless killings and deaths)
Episodes: 12
Recommendation: To all gore horror anime lovers, but on the side note, this is still light compare to some animes.

Plot:
Based on the novel& manga, Another, its a story about a boy named Koichi who recently moved to his maternal hometown and shits just get real. Apparently there's a curse where chair and desk number has always have to have extra or pupils or anyone related to the students of class 3 of Yomiyama middle school will end up dead. So I dont want to state any form of spoiler (then it wouldnt be mysterious) this is as far as I can say about the plot.

Main Characters:

The boy who 's lack of adrenaline and facial expression while still can't figure obvious things out, Koichi Sakakibara:

He's always confused and does thing what others dont. He doesn't find anything surreal creepy, yet he can go all panicked when in trouble. He's a bit nosy which is why he was the easy target of what his classmates thought as the root of the problem.

The I don't like talking and I don't have any expression nor depression one eyed Misaki Mei:

She's the real root of all confusion her classmates been through. Though blessed with a trump card, this girl just keep things to herself, thinking "its for the best" eventhough her choice took more lives than it is for the best. I don't hate her though, I just that speechless at how cool she is when everything is messed up.

My perspective ( WARNING: THIS PART IS A SPOILER)

Personally, i like the idea of this story. I don't know how its written in the novel or in manga but for the anime, there are a lot of cowshitties things that I do not agree about. If we are in their place, what I could change would be:

TELL MY WHOLE CLASS THAT MISAKI HAS A SPECIAL EYE TO SEE THE DEAD. I mean, fuked(censored :P) Koichi's feelings if he found out..whats important is the human lives. We would have not go through all the trouble to kill randomly.
I know what you are thinking..Misaki didn't know that they should kill the extra and didn't have the chance to tell them. FFFFF... even so, a normal freaked out girl would have been either scattered away or at least try to solve the mystery when her own twin sister died and oh by the way ..realising that it has to do with the curse of the class.
WHy the f would anyone still go to that school if they already know about the curse??? WHY? would you go still go there even if you knew you would be dead? WHY THE F the formal homeroom teacher didnt warn the entire town about it?
That school shouldnt be exist anyway. Should be abandoned, and they should build another school not based on that school.
How the f Koichi didnt realise his aunt is a ghost??????? seriously dude...

Nevertheless, the positive side of this anime:

The sound effect is really good. Graphic is also ample enough to be in a gore category.

The annoying side of this anime:

Well of course, the anime tend to have the "frozen" segment where the anime stand still for a couple of seconds to either giving us time to ponder or giving the characters to ponder. I think this is common in horror anime, the more quiet the scene, the better the effect of sudden suprise to the watcher.
The opening song is in between too cliche or too bad to even be a song.
I wished the ending was prolong a bit, letting the anime watchers see how the characters finally resolve things. Its a bit too short.

Rating:

For horror anime lover, I'd say 6/10
For normal anime lover, I'd say its 7/10

Attack On Titan : Shingeki No Kyojin : 進撃の巨人 : Rating and Review

Dystopia (terrifying place to live in), 100%
German influence(name of characters are German names), 90%
tragedy and gore ( lots of death, unexpected death and intense visual), 85%
science/Greek fiction (titans, modern weapons) 100%

Comments from Malaysian friends:
It is the most recommended anime to watch by most friends in 2013-2014. Of course, provided you are prepared to watch one, as it can be very intense and you will see a lot of excruciating deaths scenes.

Plot:
Long story short, it's basically a time of the future, where humans, surviving humans are protected by layers of really tall walls which in this case protecting them from the giant man-eating titans who came from nowhere since 100 years ago. So the story started when a massive titan whom they called as "Armored Titan" made a messed and causing the first layer of the wall to diminish.
So all titans (from giants to small titans) started to roam the first layer city on a buffet spree.. apparently in the later episode, it is founded that these titans intentionally murdered human beings as plausibly as an effort to exterminate our species (yikes).Well, they eat and vomit us (bulimics) ehem... vomit human.. not us as they do not have any sort of digestive system. (they are all butt-naked but no all that "hoohaa" organs hanging.)
Since this anime only last for 25 episodes, there are still a lot of questions left behind (well unless you are extreme spoiler sadist like me, go and read the manga version).

Main characters who I assumed not so soon to be dead:

The guy with guts but no talent, Eren Jaeger :

He is special, you'll know him when you watch this. Typical adrenaline overdosed hero who unlike other characters, do not look too panic and scared when facing the titans.

The girl with abs, guts and skill, but zero communication skill, Misaka Ackerman:

She's the heroine (more like a hero) as she played the part where anybody could count on her, regardless of her juniority(opposite seniority ..hehe). She's overprotecting adopted sister of Eren, and have a thing for him. Mysterious and obviously blessed (-.-") with talent to kill titans. She's a half Asian here and obviously we Asian have either became titans or died as titans' barfs as she is considered as a rare ethnicity.

The overly sensitive and fragile but still survived third wheeler genius, Armin Arlert:

He's not outstanding and god knows what on his mind when he decided to become a Recon corp. Obviously a very normal terrified 15 year old boy who still can't get grip of his reality being in titan infest world condition. Even so, he mostly did all of the plannings and the adults even listen to his opinions.

Main trivia of this Anime:

The anti titans army consists of three divisions: The Garrison Regiment, the Survey corp, Military police brigade(high class). There is also the trainees squad which is what this anime is focusing on as the lead characters are the recent graduates.
Jaeger is "hunter" in German. so.. Eren Jaeger (so cliche) ..
"Eren Jaeger" in urban dictionary is an action verb for a person when he has an uncontrollable anger.
Titans have different classes by their height (per meter). They are usually deformed and have different types of behaviour.

Rating:

Filter and effect: The anime has a nice texture of color of mostly orange and brown.
Anime details: Detailed , it is drawn in Seinen/Josei style (mature drawing) but it still has a shoujo influence in the characters (eyes quite big though)
If you are expose to gore animes a lot, then this would be just okay for you. So, seinen/josei lovers will find this anime 8/10. Shoujo and Shonen lovers will find it okay except for the graphical content so, 5/10.
